Up until my oldest turned six, we were always traveling to family members houses for holidays.
But, having three under age six became time consuming. Less and less gas could go towards holidays trips to families.
Then we hit the roughest patch we could ever hit…
He had to quit his job.
We had to move.
Our truck broke down.
Believe me when I say, it was an experience that took its toll.
BUT, WE MADE IT!
We started using this opportunity to create our own memories at home instead of feeling like we HAD to go to family.
That was almost 8 years ago now.
We don’t see family much anymore. Not because we don’t want to, but everyone just seems so busy now.
But we continue to make new memories at home all the time.
Evolving our traditions as we go and grow with eachother as a family.
And I have to admit, I’m pretty lucky to have the children and their ever expanding minds, to help us mold and shape our traditions.
